Thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic, we’re entering a new age. While there’s much debate as to what shape this new world will take, one thing is clear: we need as much protection as we can get. Already, the world is adapting to this strange environment with new tools; one of the most prevalent is body temperature infrared thermometers.

Introducing: Hawkeye Body Temperature Infrared Thermometer

In 2020 General Tools introduced The Hawkeye Body Temperature Non-Contact Infrared Thermometer is designed for quick and concise body temperature measurements. Unlike other infrared thermometers, this unit is intended for non-contact measurement of human body temperature. That makes it ideal for mass temperature screening and monitoring without contact or fear of contamination for workplaces, public events, and social gatherings.

Our #NCIT100 non-contact temperature gun provides the extra layer of protection public places will need in the reopening process. A quick, two-second scan will accurately determine abnormal body temperatures. In this day-in-age, fast results are crucial for survival; HawkEye provides these with ease, without the need for close contact, preventing the spread of germs. A portable device like this is not just efficient, it’s necessary -- especially for small business owners, stores, and restaurants.

2020 marks the beginning of how people, schools, companies, states, and countries redefine what it takes to stay safe, healthy, and smart. HawkEye Non-Contact Body Temperature Thermometer is the necessary first level of protection that the public both needs and deserves, providing everyone with a sense of health and well-being.

How it works:

Its 3-color-coded temperature display and alerts allow for a quick and easy body temperature reading of the wrist or forehead.

Hold the thermometer 0.4 in. to 1.1 in. from the center of the forehead (10 mm to 30 mm) and press the trigger. The temperature displays quickly with a response time of less than 2-seconds. It measures between 91.4° to 109.4°F (33° to 43°C), with an accuracy of ±0.4°F (±0.2°C). The thermometer has a large, easy to read color-changing LCD screen display with a Fahrenheit or Celsius readout. The screen changes color from green to yellow to red as higher temperatures are detected, accompanied by an audible alarm.

WHY INFRARED?

There are a number of reasons why you should consider choosing infrared technology for your temperature reading needs. When shopping for a thermometer to add to your stable of equipment, consider purchasing a quality infrared thermometer for some of the following reasons.

1. Accuracy. Obviously, you need to be confident that you are getting an accurate reading from your thermometer when you put it to use, and infrared models have a great reputation for accuracy. The technology used in these products is simple yet advanced, and you should be able to rely on the information that you receive - provided that the thermometer is used in the right way.

2. Safety. One of the great things about being able to check on temperature remotely is that you don't actually need to touch the object in question. If you are trying to take the temperature of a particularly hot item, you won't need to place your hand, or even another piece of equipment, onto the hot surface. Just by aiming your IR thermometer at the object you wish to measure, you can get all of the information you need without putting yourself at risk.

3. Contamination prevention. Another benefit to the remote measuring system is the avoidance of contamination. This is particularly important within the foodservice world, but it applies in other applications as well. Since you don't need to touch the item that you are measure, you won't need to worry about contaminating that product with the probe of a thermometer. Rather than having to make sure that all of your temperature measuring equipment is properly sterilized prior to each use, you can simply point the IR gun at the item being measured and forget any worries about contamination problems.

4. Durability. You want an Infrared Thermometer that is tough enough to stand up to the demands of the jobsite, workshop or just being bounced around in your toolbox.

There are certainly more than three advantages to using infrared, but the three listed above are some of the most important. Additionally, the cost of this technology has come down in recent years, meaning you can access this great method of temperature measurement for a significantly lower cost than it would have required just a few short years ago.
