Tools of the Trade: Meet Angela Cusanelli, Purchaser

Coming from a large pharmaceutical corporation with more than 700 employees, Angela was drawn to General Tools because it was a smaller, family-owned private company located in a great neighborhood. She adjusted well to her new job as purchaser right away.

“I like my job. It's important to have a good team around you and a supportive boss; I’m lucky to have both.”

Angie is especially proud of her role in the acquisition of MANNIX instruments in 2007.

“It expanded my workload and was challenging at times, but it made me grow and take on a leadership role,” she recalls.

“The efforts of the group involved in this task showed the true meaning of teamwork. My most recent accomplishment was on the Garden Weasel acquisition, where I helped with planning and analyzing. The support and guidance of my boss showed how well we listen to and trust each other.”

Angie has enjoyed annual Christmas parties with her colleagues, too.

“All the employees from different departments had a chance to mingle and win prizes, which is a good morale booster and makes everyone feel appreciated,” she says.

“Birthdays are celebrated, too, which gives you a real sense of family. I particulary enjoyed when the ice cream truck came to our office and we all had free ice cream.”

Some of the people who have helped Angie develop her career at DT include Chris Edwards, Daimin Barclay and Shernette Matthews.

“They guided me through computer upgrades and shared their knowledge and experience, which helped with my daily tasks. Their appreciation, respect and acknowledgement of my work means a lot,” she says.

Angie finds the Analog Pocket Stem Thermometer practical when cooking turkey or ham for the holidays.

One fun fact about General Tools:

We would experience lots of fun and camaraderie during our GTI Christmas Decorations Competition. Floor vs. Floor. The 2nd floor ended up winning but we all ended up winning! The entire office was transformed into a beautiful, holiday winter wonderland!
