What is the difference between Relative and WME (wood moisture equivalent) readings?

Relative readings are comparative readings used for determining the moisture content level from one area to another of the same material. Ideally you would take a reading from an area you know to be dry and compare that to other areas of the same material. When there is a spike in the reading, this indicates a higher concentration of moisture in comparison to previously scanned locations.

WME (wood moisture equivalent) readings are a measurement of the moisture percentage in an object.
